Visitor Information Center
Terry Fox Monument – Tourism Thunder Bay

The Terry Fox Visitor Information Centre is one of two travel centres operated by the City of Thunder Bay. The visitor information centre is on the eastern approach to the city on Highway 11/17, the Trans-Canada Highway about one kilometre east from the Hodder Avenue exit into the City.

The Information Centre is a short walk to the Terry Fox Monument, a nine-foot high bronze statue of famed cross country runner, Terry Fox. The statue set on a 45 ton granite base with a foundation of local amethyst, commands a breath-taking view of Lake Superior. The statue was erected in memory of Terry Fox, the courageous one-legged runner who embarked on a cross-country run for cancer research - the Marathon of Hope.

The Information Centre is open year round with Peak Season (Mid June-Labour Day) hours
9 am - 7 pm; daily.

The off-season (Sept - Mid June) hours are 9 am - 5 pm; daily. The Centre is closed on statutory holidays during the off-season.
