South Pier Inn
Nestled at the foot of the Aerial Lift Bridge on Minnesota Point, the world's longest freshwater sandbar, the South Pier Inn offers an unparalleled view of the bustling and scenic Duluth harbor. Heralded as one of the nation's busiest ports, visitors to the South Pier Inn can marvel at thousand-foot-long lake freighters, foreign ocean-going ships, and numerous pleasure craft passing by their windows.
South Pier Inn's 20 waterfront suites feature such premium amenities as two-person whirlpools, gas fireplaces and private balconies. With 400 feet of private shoreline, this boutique hotel offers a waterfront experience unlike any other.
During your stay, stop by the Inn's lobby for breakfast, and you'll likely have the chance to chat with the owners who are eager to share their knowledge of Duluth's historic waterfront. Afraid to miss any of the action? Then be sure to sign up for the Inn's Late Night Ship Call, and the overnight staff will ring your room whenever a ship enters or departs the harbor.
