Ron Hall Access
The Ron Hall Access on Rainy River is located on Shorewood Drive in International Falls a little more than a mile downstream from the dam. Anglers often find smallmouth bass and walleye in the swifter waters below the dam. You can also head west on the River and find good fishing where there's some structure or along the bends in the river.
Boaters can enjoy the scenery heading downstream and that will include abundant wildlife. It is common to spot American Eagles soaring above the river. You could boat all the way to Baudette, use caution when passing through the Manitou or Long Sault Rapids.
There are historic sites along the river such as the ancient McKinstry site burial mounds near the confluence of the Little Fork River or the Smith Site (Grand Mound) mounds near the confluence of the Big Fork River. Mounds on the Canadian side of the river offer an interpretive center and hiking trails.
Rules and Regulations
There are specific rules regarding efforts to halt aquatic invasive species and the most up-to-date rules are posted at the launch. Of course you should read and obey all the rules, but please do pay particular attention to preventing the spread of any invasive species.
Best Access and Parking Areas
