Rendezvous Yacht Club

Organization
Dr. Jaz and Beagle – Eric Johnson

Welcome to the Rendezvous Yacht Club located on Rainy Lake. The primary objective of this club is to promote sailing, good seamanship, safety and good sportsmanship among sailors on Rainy Lake.

The Rendezvous Yacht Club is located in Fort Frances, Ontario on beautiful Rainy Lake. Fort Frances is centrally located 420 kilometres east of Winnipeg, Manitoba, 340 kilometres west of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and 480 kilometres north of Minneapolis / St. Paul, Minnesota.

Rainy Lake is an L-shaped lake, forty-five miles long along its north - south direction and thirty-five miles long along its east - west direction. Because Rainy Lake has over fifteen hundred miles of shoreline and thirteen hundred islands, it is a true sailing paradise.

How to Support

We sail from May through October. Please join us for Wednesday Night and Saturday Races and for relaxed cruising among the islands and passageways of Rainy Lake. We welcome everyone interested in sailing, whether or not you've ever been on a boat before. Meetings are held first Wednesday of month, year long

Accomplishments

The RYC was founded in 1978 with the mission statement: "the primary object of this club is to promote sailing, good seamanship, safety and good sportsmanship among sailors on Rainy Lake…"

In 1993 the American Rainy Lake Yacht Club and the Canadian Rendezvous Yacht Club merged to form the Rendezvous Yacht Club of today. We now have members from the United States and Canada, making ours a truly unique, international yacht club.
