Porphyry Island Lighthouse
The Porphyry Island Lighthouse, located on Lake Superior off the tip of the Sibley Peninsula near Thunder Bay is operated by the Canadian Lighthouses of Lake Superior (CLLS), a not-for-profit group. Point Porphyry is automated and no longer requires an attendant to operate as a lighthouse.
Come stay in the lighthouse keeper's dwelling for an authentic historical experience. Tent camping is also available in designated areas.

What to Bring
We suggest you bring a sleeping bag, sun block, water resistant boots, and your binoculars. Food and drink is not provided so bring food for meals as well.
Kitchen Supplies Available (if any)
Available for our guests is a 3 bedroom house which can accommodate up to six people, with a wonderful view of Black Bay, the Sleeping Giant and Lake Superior. Basic amenities include, a propane stove, ice box, water, functioning kitchen, 3 single beds, 1 double bed, 1 couch, a big dinning room table. An outhouse is provided on site, with a fire pit, and access to walking trails, boat house and wonderful trails.
Number of Persons Property Will Accommodate
The island is accessible by water as well as other forms of transport, such as float plane and helicopter. Driving to the Sleeping Giant and unloading at Silver Islet may serve as the easiest access point for boaters. By going to google maps you can see where the lighthouse is situated on the Black Bay
This is an eco-friendly location. Please clean up after yourselves. Leave the property as you found it.
