Pike Bay Lodge
Pike Bay Lodge is built on the former Albert Coates estate in Pike Bay on beautiful Lake Vermilion. This acreage also encompasses parts of the former gold mining site known as Winston City. For a period of time in the 1860s it was the largest city north of Duluth, Mn.
Currently Pike Bay Lodge offers new and historic lodging ranging from the 1920's Coates family 4500 sq. ft. summer home to our 4 all new cedar lofted chalet styled cabins completed in 2006 - 2009. Towering pines overlooking Pike Bay inlet to the lake in the solitude of the north woods country makes for an enjoyable respite from your daily work life.
World class freshwater fishing for Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Perch, Northern Pike and Musky with 40,000 + acres of water provides ample opportunity for the serious fishermen and women. For the golf enthusiast there are 3 championship quality courses close by and 144 playable holes on 7 courses within 1/2 hour of the resort. There are also many family activities with the Wolf Center, two Bear Centers, Minnesota Discovery Center, Soudan Underground mine, museums, shops and heritage centers located close by. Hundreds of miles of great snowmobile trails are accessible directly from the resort. Skiing is available 30 minutes from the resort or come up and do some ice fishing in a heated modern fish house.
