Pat Roche Access
The pat Roche Access is located above the dam at International Falls and provides access to the upper Rainy River and Rainy Lake through the Ranier Rapids. The ramp is an easy grade and the parking area is paved. There's plenty of room and overflow parking is possible to the west of the Voyageurs National Park Headquarters Building which is adjacent to the boat launch. In addition to a smaller dock at the launch, there is a dock suitable for the Park's tour boat, and it makes for a dandy place to dangle a line. It's entirely possible to pull in some walleye, smallmouth bass and northern pike here.
Rules and Regulations
Rules are clearly posted at the launch, particularly all the latest regulations and advice on preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species. Please do pay special attention to preventing the spread of any and all invasive species.
Best Access and Parking Areas
From International Falls, go east on Highway 11 and turn left at the intersection of county road 155. Bear right as you follow the road and you will see the parking area for the access.
Accessibility Notes
There are no steps involved in the launch area, but some of the inclines may be a bit steep.
Pet Friendly Notes
The Pat Roche access is within International Falls and pets must be on a leash.
