Nor'wester Lodge & Canoe Outfitters has been one of the most unforgettable Northern Minnesota vacation spots for over 80 years. Located on the historic Gunflint Trail right on the shore of Poplar Lake, Nor'Wester Lodge & Canoe Outfitters is surrounded by the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) and Superior National Forest.
This Northeastern Minnesota resort offers lakeside cabin and villa accommodations, and a campground. The location is perfect for family vacations and quiet resort getaways. The area is known for excellent fishing for walleye, lake trout, northern pike and smallmouth bass. In winter, reliable snow depth from December through March creates a winter wonderland.

The Brandt family has owned and operated this lodge since 1931. Still family owned and operated, with guests returning in the 5th generation. Quality family time has become our main focus. Introducing each generation to the natural surroundings of the lodge, and helping all ages enjoy the bounty of a wilderness setting. Wonderful memories are the true treasured inheritance we can leave to the next generation.
Complete recycling is a must.

LAKESHORE CABINS & VILLAS Our secluded lakeshore cabins are well spaced for privacy and completely equipped for light housekeeping. Each unit contains stove, refrigerator, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, utensils, pots and pans, dishes and all bath and kitchen linens. Each unit has its own deck, lawn furniture, charcoal grill. Cabins include private docks and a fireplace. Exception is Birchview, which has no fireplace.

Towering Pines Cottage
Exclusive two bedroom with king bed, two double beds, bath with tub/shower, and wood burning fireplace. Located alone on a pine-studded point, just steps from the waters edge. This cottage is private and very special.
Cedar Haus Villas
Separate two-level units in a townhouse building. Each has a full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, utensils, and linens. The sitting area, with a fireplace, has sliding glass doors to a large lakeside deck equipped with table, chairs, and a charcoal grill. The first level also includes a king bed and a tub/shower bath. Upstairs there is another tub/shower bath with four queen beds in three rooms. The exception is #4, which has one queen bed and four twin beds in three rooms upstairs.
