Northernaire Houseboats on Rainy Lake Minnesota

Northernaire Houseboats base

Northernaire Houseboats specializes in Rainy Lake Houseboat vacation rentals in Minnesota. Houseboating on Rainy Lake is truly unique as it is a scenic border lake located in Voyageurs National Park. Rainy Lake's waters are both in Minnesota and Ontario, Canada. It is the largest lake in Voyageurs National Park spanning 73 miles in one direction. Voyageurs National Park is strewn with glacial rock, rugged terrain, scattered beaches, abundant wildlife... and no roads! A Minnesota Houseboat rental vacation can offer you the perfect combination of excitement and solitude.

Rainy Lake has been noted as the finest walleye lake in the continental United States. It is a productive fishing location for all anglers regardless of experience level. Rainy Lake holds countless walleye, trophy northern pike, abundant small mouth bass, and an excellent population of slab crappies. Rainy Lake is the largest and the most abundant fishery of the 5 lakes in Voyageurs National Park - Rainy Lake, Crane Lake, Lake Kabetogama, Namakan Lake, and Sand Point Lake.

A Northern Minnesota Houseboat Rental Vacation on Rainy Lake offers something for everyone. Whether you're seeking the quiet sounds of nature or are determined to catch your trophy fish, Rainy Lake has it all. You can sun-bathe on top of the houseboat, swim in the sky-blue waters, observe the untouched wildlife, explore the hiking trails, view the historic mines, and take countless photos of your memorable vacation.

Houseboating is the best way to experience Rainy Lake to its fullest. We do our best to make sure this experience is one to remember!

Houseboat Information:

The houseboat appliances (hot water heater, refrigerator / freezer / stove / oven / lights / space heater) all run on L.P. gas. This eliminates the need for a generator. There is no need for 120 volt outlets on the houseboat because everything is either LP or 12 volt. There is a 12 volt outlet next to the helm of each boat. The 12 volt system is continuously re-charged by solar power. We do however offer 2500 watt Rental Generators for the fishermen to recharge their trolling motor batteries. You are welcome to bring your own generator. Generator operations must be carried out on shore.
