Mind Body Whole Wellness
Vision: providing an environment for self-discovery, improved mobility, and relaxation. Teaching principles and practices that focus on the Six Pillars of Wellness: nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, cleansing, and self awareness. Finding your path to freedom in mind and body by creating a life of joy and abundance through a self care routine that best serves your health goals.
After 16 years as a Correctional Officer and a particularly stressful year at work, Jen decided it was time to start making some lifestyle changes. She recognized in herself the signs and symptoms of PTSD and knew that things needed to change. At the suggestion of a friend she applied to Yoga North International Somatic Yoga Institute in Duluth, MN. In the year that followed, she studied yoga philosophy, practiced and soul searched, until she was finally able to find the way back to herself.
Jen wanted to give back to her brothers and sisters in the first responder community. While at school, she developed the Yoga for Sheepdogs program as a part of her practicum assignment. The concept is that in society, we have everyday citizens, the sheep, and those who are capable of violence for personal gain, the wolves. The sheepdogs are a thin blue line that separate the two; protecting the sheep from the wolves. YFS Program works to develop the skills to transition between the armor we put on to deal with the wolves and the ability to come home to the sheep, nor baring the teeth we were given to defend them with.
In addition to YFS, the idea of starting her own business gave birth to the creation of Mind Body Whole Wellness. Over the next 5 years, Jen would like to build a Wellness Retreat Center on the shores of Lake Superior out at Mink Mountain in Neebing, Ontario.
Since becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher RYT200 through Yoga Alliance, Jen has also become a Wellness Advocate with doTERRA. She teaches Essential Oil Education classes that speak to natural solutions for health. Her life philosophy is based on finding freedom and abundance in life through a solid Self Care Foundation as a way to fill her cup up daily, and to best serve the world around her. It is chief goal to assist others in developing their self care routine, to enable them to find their joy and freedom in life.
