Manitou Rapids Annual Fish Fry
Each year on the day before the opening of the official fishing season, which is generally on or before the Victoria Day long weekend, the people of Manitou Rapids (Rainy River First Nations) host the community to come and enjoy a feast of freshly cooked walleye and other local delicacies (including smoked sturgeon), with a full complement of side dishes and salads, drinks, and dessert.
The event offers us a chance to extend the hand of friendship to our friends and neighbours and anyone visiting the area - all are welcome.
The event takes place at the Manitou Rapids Reserve Pow-Wow Grounds.
This successful event has been held annually for more than forty years, and keeps growing larger and better.
