The Iron Man Statue is located on Iron Drive across from the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm. Completed in 1987, the statue was made of Iron Ore and was created by Jack E. Anderson. At 81 feet tall and weighing 4 tons, the Iron Man Statue is a tribute to the Mesabi, Vermilion, Cuyuna, and Gogebic Ranges. The Iron Man was a project proposed during the 1976 Bicentennial to make the City of Chisholm a Bicentennial city.
