Appealing Downtown Area

This business district in International Falls features murals showing the history of the city and the area. There are several historic buildings in the business district which adjoins a six block area of civic space including Smokey Bear Park, the Pete Peterson Band Shell, City Hall, the Library and the historic Koochiching County Courthouse. Just to the west of the Courthouse is the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, constructed of natural stone quarried from the banks of the Rainy River during construction of the dam in 1909.

Getting Here and Getting Around

The business district and civic area is in the area bordered by 5th Street on the south, 2nd Street on the north, 2nd Avenue on the east and 9th Avenue on the west. Maps are available at the Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau Offices, 301 2nd Avenue.
