Northern Ontario’s Debut Ice Dragon Boat Challenge at at Fort William Historical Park’s Voyageur Winter Carnival!

The action heats up this February at Fort William Historical Park’s Voyageur Winter Carnival with the debut of the Ice Dragon Boat Challenge! The thrill of competition will take over the frozen Kaministiquia River as teams’ race in specially designed dragon boats sporting ice blades propelled by up to 10 paddlers with ice pick paddles. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams in both the Youth (12-17) and Adult (18+) categories.

Accessibility Notes

Contemporary facilities and public washrooms are accessible. Most historic buildings are accessible. Wheelchairs are available at Admissions.

Pet Friendly Notes

Pets are not permitted at festivals and events.

Pricing

Team registration deadline January 24, 4:00pm. Team registration fee $500. Each team is also required to fundraise a minimum of $500 per team. The fundraised money will be divided between the United Way of Thunder Bay and the Lakehead Canoe Club.
