Fort William Historical Park and the David Thompson Astronomical Observatory offer a wide-variety of entertaining, activity-based education programs for learners of all ages.

Our programs are designed to meet curriculum requirements across a variety of divisions including history, health and physical education, science and math, Indigenous studies, and social studies. We can also customize programs to meet the learning goals of your students or community group.
Overnight Adventure Packages
Fort William Historical Park and the David Thompson Astronomical Observatory offer overnight adventure packages for participants of all ages, including adults. Our Overnight Adventure Packages include meals, accommodations and programming. Choose from the Voyageur Program, Sleeping Under Bark, Astronomy Program, or design your own overnight program from our recreation, culture, history or astronomy programs.
March Break & Summer Day Camps
Discovery and adventure awaits your child at our March Break and Summer Day Camps! Our programs focus on exploration and education through activity-based programming with indoor and outdoor activities and games.
Fort William Historical Park is located minutes from the Thunder Bay International Airport, on King Road, approximately 4 kilometres (3 miles) west on Broadway Avenue, off Highway 61. For visitors coming from the U.S., Fort William Historical Park is only 30 minutes north of the border. Simply, follow Highway 61 north and turn left onto Broadway Avenue in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.

All contemporary facilities and public washrooms are fully accessible. Most historic buildings are accessible. Wheelchairs and strollers are available to rent at the Visitor Centre.
