Cross River Heritage Center

Museum
Scroeder Area Historical Society

Cross River Heritage Center Schroeder, MN on the North Shore of Lake Superior, is the place to visit to experience local heritage and culture. The building, with its distinguishing Tudor-style architecture, was originally built in 1929. Over time it has become a landmark, known by both tourists and local residents alike, as the heart of Schroeder. Its unusual architecture makes it the only Tudor building in Cook County since its construction. Through the years it has been home to The Stickney Inn, as well as a boarding house, restaurant, general store, post office, gas station and meat market.

Visit the Cross River Heritage Center and you will explore the heritage of the North Shore. On display are historical exhibits and restored period rooms. There is also an art show featuring the works of local artists and artisans. Beautiful, original gifts created by regional artists are available for purchase in our gift shop. And to keep each of your visits interesting, every season features special programs by local authors, artists and speakers.
