Cross Quetico Lakes Tour

The Cross Quetico Lakes Tour is hosted by the Beaten Path Nordic Trails in collaboration with Ontario Parks
It is an all day ski tour on the frozen lakes and portages of pristine Quetico Provincial Park, on the Trans-Canada Trail and the Path of the Paddle. "The world class paddling destination becomes a wonderland in the winter"

This year we are including an additional tour route within the Dawson Trail Campgrounds for those that would like a shorter distance but can still meet up with the other group at the end of the day, take in a ski, meal and REEL Paddling Film Festival. For all routes please register at the bottom of this page.

Typical Annual Agenda

Friday 7pm Little Falls Community Centre - safety briefing and final registrations

-7:00 Fri. night safety briefing (CENTRAL TIME) , route, briefing- at the Little Falls CC last chance registration

-Doors are open at 6:15 a.m. Sat. morning at the LFCC for a light breakfast (coffee, juice, fruit/muffins and yogurt)

-7:00 a.m. Shuttle bus to trailhead

-optional routes may vary each year with conditions of 1 to 3 routes (roughly 35km., 45km.60km.) This year a shorter route is included in Dawson Trail Campgrounds. Distance for the shorter routes are yet to be determined.

-4:30 p.m. shuttle bus return to town. Participants are expected to be back to Pavilion at 4pm

-6:00 pm dinner and films to follow

Participation Requirements (if any)

There can be up to 3 lengths of routes across the lakes and portages. . Participants must be able to ski all day over varied terrain, much of it in a non-groomed wilderness park. Participants have all day to finish

Depending on conditions we may have an additional shorter route within the campground 8km - 16 km that will require you to provide your own transportation.Campground tour is still in the planning - times and distances posted soon

Pet Friendly Notes

Pets are allowed but must be able to behave with people and other pets and physically up to the task. Pets are not allowed on the bus so for those wanting to bring their dogs they will have to find their own transportation.

Pricing

$60 includes a light breakfast, shuttles to the 35-45km trail-heads and return and a dinner/social

$40 includes the shorter route ski tour, dinner/social and also included.

This year we have high quality professional films hosted by Path of the Paddle for evening entertainment

For folks unable to ski that day they can still come for dinner $20 and films $15

Celebrate skiing and paddling and support the Beaten Path ski club as well as the Path of the Paddle Association. Ski the Path of the Paddle
