Caribou Rock Trail

Bearskin Lake Overlook on the Caribou Rock Trail – Andy Hubley

The Caribou Rock Trail is a scenic 1.5 - 7 mile hike located off the Gunflint Trail in the Superior National Forest. The trailhead is on the Hungry Jack Lake Road. The first 3/4 of a mile takes you to an overlook of West Bearskin lake. Continue on about another mile and you will be overlooking Moss Lake. Continue on through some rugged and scenic terrain to Stairway Portage and Rose Lake. (The last portion of this trail is in the BWCAW, you will need a permit.) There are several significant steep elevation changes on this trail.
