Bear Head Lake State Park
Bear Head Lake State Park is in the heart of Minnesota’s Northwoods, just south of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Its easy access is an attraction if you're looking for the feeling of a remote wilderness get-away. While hiking along the miles of hiking trails, you'll have the opportunity to see signs of martin, fisher, bald eagles, wolves, black bears, moose and more. You'll find the park’s lakes appealing if you're looking to catch anything from northern pike and walleye to panfish and trout. Fishing equipment is free to check out at the park office, and licenses are not required on most lakes within the park for Minnesota residents. Boat and kayak rental is also available. The park offers both remote and electric campsites, camper cabins, a guest house and group camp year-round. The swimming beach on Bear Head Lake provides a sandy place to cool down on a hot summer day. This beautiful northern forest park has something for you!
