The Baptism River Inn was established in 2004. Dedicated to peace, quiet and privacy. Whirlpool tubs in all 4 guest accommodations. We practice sustainability and oppose sulfide mining in the region. The most peaceful lodgings on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Located on 32 wooded acres along a quarter mile of one of Lake Superior's major tributaries. Centrally located on Minnesota's North Shore.

Driveway crosses a logging era bridge from the early 1900s. River location boasts a long standing local swimming hole.

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes

Sara Peterson became the new owner in January 2021. She fell in love with this amazing property and will continue the Inn's peaceful legacy into the future.

Andy(Pa) & Lura(Ma) built this inn from scratch and began entertaining guests in 2004. They had both been recently widowed and pulled up their city roots to embark on this adventure with 4 young children. Neither had any experience in the hospitality field.
